We decided to stay in Waukesha for the weekend of the 4th this year and we had a wonderful time. On the night of the 3rd we went down to Dustin's work's roof top to watch the Milwaukee Fireworks. Brian, Kate and the kids joined us.
Here the kids are waiting for them to start.

Traffic we thankfully didn't have to deal with!On the night of the 4th we went to see the Waukesha fireworks. Brian and the kids joined us this night too, Kate was visiting some friends in Whitewater, we missed her. We borrowed the boy's dad's pick-up truck to watch the fireworks in... it was great, we had great seats and stayed out of the grass which meant no misquotes!
This past weekend we headed up to Three Lakes. At Antigo's historical museum there is an old steam engine train. We are usually driving through after dark but this weekend we were able to stop during the day light hours. Riley was in awe. (and honestly so was I, I couldn't believe they are so big)
Roxie waited patiently in the car.
Dustin took Riley for her first paddle boat ride. She ate lunch and loved being carted around.
So did Roxie!
Roxie wanted to desperately get back into the paddle boat.
We laughed at Sydney (Dustin's parent's dog) and how she was always swimming along side of the boat. Dustin said that she was their Tour Guide.
Two great weekends in a row. Can't get much better than that.
