Before we went up to Appleton we had Brian, Kate and the kids over to open presents. We decided that the gifts that we had for each other were the biggest ones that we had to bring anywhere, so instead of hauling them 4 hours north and then 4 hours back home, we would drive 5 minutes and exchange a bit early. It really worked out well and we could enjoy the season with a smaller more intimate group.

Here we are with my 3 best girl-friends from high school. It has been tradition for all of us to get together before Christmas. Katie and Melissa had not met Riley yet so it was so much fun for them to meet her.

We finally got to meet Hadley! Her grandparents (the Graycarek's) are great friends of my parents, and Annie and I grew up with their two girls. Hadley is getting close to a year old and we had not met her yet. The girls had a great time playing with each other; hopefully they will grow up with each other too.

Christmas brunch at the country club. Riley with Steve and Jo.

Christmas eve: Riley in her cute Gingerbread costume from NeeNee.
Granddaddy is reading Riley "Twas the Night Before Christmas." He would always read it to Annie, myself and my two cousins on Christmas Eve. Now the tradition has passed down to Riley. Riley had a bad case of the croup and her worst night was Christmas Eve. Dustin and I spent a good deal of time in the bathroom with her and the hot water running! She was a trouper and so was everyone else who was with us!

Christmas Day: We couldn't decide which Riley liked more... eating the wrapping paper or tearing it. Hopefully next year she will be as excited about the gifts themselves as she is opening them!

Riley's new pony from Annie. It is so great. Riley loves bouncing in it.

Christmas in Three Lakes

Dustin's Parents bought me a brand new Pfaff Quilters Sewing Machine. I spent the next 4 days learning how to quilt and use my new machine!

We got a new camera for Christmas as well. This was Dustin trying to learn to use it. The pictures actually turned out really great, so I wanted to share some of them with you.

It was great to see you guys! We definitely have to do that more often! Since I am off this summer, we should plan some play dates, we are close enough to do that!!! We wish the weather would have held out so we could have stayed a little longer! Sorry to hear that Riley was sick. Hadley got sick a couple days after Christmas and she is still dealing with it, poor kiddo!
